Arro provide quick sign-up payment accounts for individuals and businesses that find it harder to access everyday ‘high street banking services’. Asim conceived the idea for Arro in 2013, aged just 24. He had moved to the UK from Pakistan and, despite being granted an Entrepreneur Visa by the UK government and possessing access to funds, the UK high street banks refused to let him open a current account with them due to him not having a UK address history. This experience inspired Asim to create payment accounts for people that cannot access basic financial services. 18 months after Arro’s launch, more than 40,000 customers were taking advantage of their services.
Marq Millions is a fully accredited and licensed eMoney service provider that creates bespoke payment card solutions for its clients. Asim marshalled the founders of Marq Millions, then built relationships with the likes of Barclays, Visa, and Mastercard, and helped it to earn an eMoney license from the FCA (Financial Conduct Agency). Arro was created as a proof of concept product by Marq Millions, so it could showcase its services in the global marketplace. Marq Millions quickly gained recognition from unicorn investors.
AA Exchange is one of the largest money exchange companies in Pakistan. It provides seamless currency exchange services with the most competitive and up-to-date rates. After taking over this business from his father, Asim expanded AA Exchange to more than 100 stores nationwide, oversaw massive growth, and built partnerships with the likes of Western Union and Moneygram. Asim gained notoriety during this tenure, which led to him being awarded the title of ‘Youngest Successful Business Entrepreneur 2010’ by the Government of Pakistan. He was also made advisor to the State Bank of Pakistan.
